Webinar Description
The National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS) Science Collaborative hosted a panel webinar on April 11, 2019 to discuss lessons learned and next steps, opportunities, and needs for living shorelines management and research. Panelists included members of the NERRS and partners who have been studying how different living shoreline designs perform in a variety of coastal locations from the Alabama Gulf Coast to New York, and have been developing tools to enhance the use of these techniques. Panelists ’ work has, in part, been supported by Science Collaborative resources. In addition to facilitating a panel discussion of the lessons learned, management implications and next steps related to a series of applied research projects, the webinar gave audience members the opportunity to engage and ask questions about opportunities and challenges associated with living shorelines.
